My sister-in-law Becky posted her answers to a personal survey on her blog. While I usually focus on science and robots and other cool things that I want to remember here in my Online memory, why not a fun survey? Just once…
Four jobs I have had in my life (not including my current job):
- Bus Boy at Bonanza (ugh… I climbed that ladder starting at the bottom rung)
- Teaching Gifted-and-Talented Kids D&D (seriously, a teenage boy’s dream job)
- Computer Programmer at Mercury Marine (programming is fun… as a hobby)
- NASA Scientist (very high at this point… can barely make out Bonanza!)
Four Films I have watched again and again:
- Star Wars Episode IV (Not the over-produced remake!)
- Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (in Chinese with subtitles)
- Best in Show (or anything by Christopher Guest)
- Super Troopers (still not sure why its so funny, but it is)
Four Programs I love to watch:
- Planet Earth series (again and again)
- The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (the most informative news on TV)
- Late nite UFO specials (they make a good ridiculous background noise)
- Green Day’s VH1 Storytellers (I guess I don’t watch that much TV)
Four Places I have been on vacation:
- Scotland and Iceland (Honeymoon)
- Maui Hawaii (Emily took me there on my 40th birthday)
- The Galapagos and Ecuador (Darwin was a genius!)
- Central Mexico where they speak Huastecan (we drove down from Wisconsin!)
Four favorite foods:
- Sizzling Tofu in Peanut Sauce at Amarin Thai in Mountain View CA (Hi Otis!)
- Chicken Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer at Dawat in New York City
- Enchiladas with Mole Sauce at Palo Alto Sol in Palo Alto CA (any Mexican food)
- Cheese (I am from Wisconsin after all… although Spanish Manchego is best)
Four favorite drinks:
- Milk (I am from Wisconsin after all…)
- Mountain Dew (the vegetable oil makes it go down smoothly)
- Orange Dream Machine at Jamba Juice
- Frangelico made by Father Angelico along the banks of the River Po in Italy
Four places I would rather be right now:
- Amarin Thai in Mountain View California
- In orbit around Saturn
- Camping in Valles Marineris on Mars
- Anywhere in California… (especially the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve)
